What a twist, right?  Who knew Trevor’s mystery man was really Andy’s old roommate Kyle?  Actually, it was pretty obvious to some of you, judging by the comments.

Aside from his physical appearance (same hair color, sticky-out ears, etc…), I think there are three reasons Kyle’s identity was so obvious to some of you:

  1. A drawn-out sex scene drew more attention to Kyle’s missing face.
  2. The lack of a red herring made it obvious this was supposed to be someone we already knew.
  3. Kyle is the only supporting character that’s been introduced.  If it’s got to be someone we knew, it had to be him!

This chapter went through a lot of changes from my original idea to the final execution, and part of that is because of the super-long break between pages one and two.  I got a bit over-zealous with the sex scene–It had been so long since I’d drawn one!  Initially, we were going to spend a little longer in the club so I could establish a random guy who would serve as a red herring, and the sex scene was going to be shorter–only a page or three–so that Kyle’s hidden face (hopefully) wasn’t so obvious.

I’ve certainly learned a few things, though.  Hopefully the next time I try a twist ending like this, it’ll be more of a surprise.  As for the next chapter, I’m working on it now, and I’ll announce a start date soon!

Later!
